Kambah Pool Reserve is a park along the Murrumbidgee River, located about 18 kilometers southwest of the city center of Canberra, Australia's center of national government. The shallow Murrumbidgee River is characterized by lots of rocks, but within the reserve there is a broad area of the river that stretches about 800 meters, and that stretch is the actual part of the river called Kambah Pool. It is a popular textile swimming area. Just downstream (north) of the pool, there is an area of the river that is officially designated for nude bathing. The nude area is reached by following the trail that continues straight ahead from the end of the access road. After a few hundred meters, you'll reach a "Nude Bathing Area" sign. The nude area is characterized by a number of shallow, rocky pools amid the rocks of the river, and the forested setting is quite beautiful. There is very little sand along the river, but there are many flat rock areas for sunbathing. There are toilet facilities and barbecues in the textile area.
