The nude beach of Hendaye has a multitude of names based on nearby landmarks. One name is Les Deux Jumeaux ("the two twins"), which is the name of the rock columns (pinpointed) just offshore from the northeast end of the main beach. The other name is Abaddia, after Château d'Abaddia (pinpointed), a castle that looks medieval but was actually built in the 1860's. Another name is Loya (sometimes Loïa), the name of the small bay to the northeast of Château d'Abaddia.

Once you park, there are several areas you can explore. One if the far northeastern end of the long main beach of Hendaye (where this placemark is pinpointed). This area gets a good bit of nude use, but nudity may be less common on peak days when the beach is crowded.

If there are too may textiles around, remember you can explore areas to the north. There is a small cove just beyond the end of main beach, and just around the bend is Baie de Loya, the previously mentioned hidden bay. Both these beaches are frequented by nudists, as are the tiny coves between them.

Plage de Hendaye draws many visitors from Spain. Hendaye is the southernmost Atlantic coastal town in France.
