This beach is lined with caravans, most of which are left here year round, making it a permanent informal beach community. This is the only such beach we know of in France.

About a kilometer east of the end of the paved road and still among the caravans, there is a sign announcing naturist use of the beach. Nudity is possible for several kilometers farther east toward the mouth of the river Rhône. You can drive as far as you care to, park and strip down.

Piémanson is a very remote beach, over 10 kilometers from the nearest town (Salin-de-Giraud), and requires a detour of about 45 kilometers off the beaten path since Salin-de-Giraud itself is quite isolated. En route to Piémanson you'll pass through the Camargue, a vast wetlands area.

Piémanson is not nearly as popular (or scenic) as Plage de l'Espiguette, the other notable nude beach of the Camargue. Espiguette is about 90 kilometers away on the western edge of the Camargue and is far less remote, being close to Montpellier.
