The seven kilometers of coastline between Crystal Cresent and White Rock has long been frequented by a small number of nudists. There is no sandy beach along this stretch, and railroad tracks hug the coastline.

While nudists may be scattered at various more hidden and inaccessible areas, the most popular spot for nudity is most quickly accessed from 1001 Steps, a coastal access point in the southern part of Surrey at the end of 15A Avenue. This winding staircase has about 300 steps despite its name.

Once you descend to the beach and turn left, after a kilometer look for mile marker 125.0. Over the next mile (1.6 kilometers) up mile marker 124.0, nudity is common despite the fact that nude bathers below the tracks are visible to those walking alongside the tracks (which seems to be commonplace despite the dangers; trains are infrequent but approach very rapidly). However, it seems that most casual strollers know about the nudity that takes place on the beach and don't make an issue of it. Neither do authorities, so far as we know.
