These hot springs, about 40 miles southeast of Provo, have two names: regulars call them "Diamond Fork," but most maps label them "Fifth Water." Diamond Fork Hot Springs are usually considered the best natural springs in Utah and among the best in the West. The long but relatively easy hike is worth it for the scenery, and the springs are in an idyllic location in view of a spectacular waterfall. If you're adventurous, you can even walk behind the waterfall. Volunteers have built several rock pools in the creek. Cold creek water mixes with hot water seeping from the ground at 125°F. The pools are usually at a comfortable soaking temperature. While nudity is customary here most of the time, it is best to be discreet if no one else is naked. If others can see you, ask if they mind before you disrobe. (Remember, Utah is extremely conservative.)

Despite the long hike, the springs are quite popular. Textile users are usually present in greatest numbers on Saturdays, when non-nudist families and other large groups make day trips to the springs, but Sundays often have a good number of nudists—when the Mormons are in church! This site is subject to Utah County's anti-nudity ordinance, and deputies have occasionally shown up to issue citations. However, these visits are very rare since deputies have to make the long hike before they can harass nudists, and nude bathers usually have time to suit up. A more pertinent warning is to look out for rattlesnakes, which are often encountered on the hiking trail during summer.
