"Ditch" may not be the most appealing of descriptions, but it is applied to this site to distinguish it from a nearby commercial facility called Keough Hot Springs (where bathing suits are required, incidentally). Actually, Keough is a "hot creek" formed by natural hot mineral waters that flow into a cold creek. There are several pools in the creek formed by volunteer-built dams. These pools vary in temperature, so you can sample several until you find the perfect one for a nice, long soak. Pools are located on either side of the unmarked county road that crosses the creek.

Crowds may range from a handful to several dozen depending on when you visit. Nudity is well established at this site, although textile bathers also use the springs, and it is probably not a good idea to walk around naked in front of people who are not naked. Since there are several places to soak, nudists and non-nudists should both be able to use the creek without problems.

The area is treeless and may border on intolerable in the summer heat, so it is best enjoyed in spring and autumn. Keough is a wonderful spot to soak naturally while enjoying incredible views of the Sierra Nevadas.
