Located near the small town of Bridgeport on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada mountains, Buckeye Hot Springs are natural springs along Buckeye Creek. The hot water actually emerges from the ground above the creek and flows downhill, over a sloping slab of rock, into the creek. Visitors to the springs maintain the soaking pools. The pools have been built right along the creek, and one of them is partially covered by a small rock grotto. There is also a small soaking pool located uphill from and just slightly upstream from the collection of creekside pools. Nude soaking is well established. The springs are popular, and you may encounter an entirely nude crowd or a mix of nude and textile soakers.

Here are some things you should know before you visit: The creekside pools are washed out every year from April until late June (or sometimes later) due to the higher creek flow at that time of year. The trail down to the creekside pools is very slippery. You may come across alternative directions to the springs via a turnoff from US-395 several miles north of Bridgeport. However, this is a very rough road. The directions given here are the quickest and easiest way to get to the springs. If you find that the Buckeye springs are washed out when you visit, remember that Travertine Hot Springs are nearby.
