Lake Bryan is the part of the Snake River between Lower Granite Dam and Little Goose Dam in a very remote area of southwestern Washington. The Snake River Dunes, sometimes called the Illia Dunes, is an area located a few miles northwest of Lower Granite Dam. The dunes area near the parking access has only textiles, but take a short walk northeast and you'll reach hidden areas where nudity is customary. On warm weekends, a scattering of nude sunbathers gather at this area. On weekdays, you are likely to have the place entirely to yourself. Authorities seem to tolerate nudity so long as it is practiced with some discretion. The beach is isolated in that unsuspecting textiles are not likely to show up as long as you go far enough away from the parking lot, but the beach is in view of passing boaters (and there are many boats on the lake on weekends). Therefore, nude sunbathers tend to pick spots shielded by foliage; some build driftwood screens. This is not a beach where you can walk around nude or go into the water nude, except perhaps on very quiet weekdays when there are few boaters. Partying college students (usually clothed) sometimes hang out at the dunes on weekends. (There are universities both in Pullman and nearby Moscow, Idaho.) There are no amenities or services in the immediate area.

The closest access to the dunes from the major nearby towns (Clarkston, Lewiston, Pullman and Moscow) used to be over the Lower Granite Dam, but be advised that the road across the the dam closed in the early 00's as a homeland security precaution and seems unlikely to reopen anytime soon. A significantly longer drive is now necessary from those four towns.
