Teufelsee is a small lake—about 250 meters across from one extreme to the other—in the northern part of Forst Grunewald. It lies a few kilometers east of Wannsee, the lake that borders the west side of the huge forest park. While most of Teufelsee has dense vegetation at the waterline, there is a meadow on the southeast side where sunbathers gather.
Although Teufelsee is not signed as an FKK area, nudists and textiles mix quite freely. Nudity is tolerated to the degree that it is not unusual to see naked people patronizing the roving food and beverage vendor. (There is also a café next to the pinpointed brick smokestack, which is prominently visible from the lake, but you'll need to be clothed to go there.) Some visitors swim in the lake, which has a small wooden platform in the middle for sunning.
Interesting trivia: Teufelsberg, which means "Devil's Mountain," is an artificial hill just north of Teufelsee built atop World War II rubble. The white-domed towers at the top are part of a defunct intelligence gathering station that is now a relic of the Cold War.
