Wannsee is a large lake in the far southwest of Berlin. The eastern shore of the lake is the location of an immensely popular man-made beach called Strandbad Wannsee. This beach is about 22 kilometers southwest of the city center, at the southern end of Forst Grunewald.

Strandbad Wannsee is divided into textile and FKK zones. A screen divides the two areas. The FKK area, which is the north end of the beach, is about 200 meters long. On sunny summer weekends, the entire beach is packed.

A long buildings that spans most of the length of the beach houses various amenities such as food concessions, restrooms and showers. In the part of this building that is within the FKK zone, the rooftop deck is an additional option for nude sunbathers.

Strandbad Wannsee is generally open from mid-May to mid-September but may be open out of season if the weather is warm enough. There is an admission fee. Parking is very limited, so most everyone arrives by public transit. The walk from Nikolassee S-bahn station is just 15 minutes, and there is a shuttle bus from the station to the beach on sunny days during season. When you are planning your trip, be advised that the next S-bahn station south of Nikolassee is called Wannsee, but Nikolassee is in fact the station closest to the beach.
