Bernsteinsee is a small lake on the south side of the A10 autobahn. It lies in the middle of a cluster of five towns: Hohen Neuendorf, Birkenwerder, Oranienburg, Leegebruch and Velten. Bernsteinsee is about 30 kilometers north-northwest of the city center of Berlin.

The large parking lot is at the northwest corner of the lake. Straight ahead from the parking lot, you'll be on a sandy beach on the west side of the lake. Round the corner of the lake and you'll be on the lawn of the south shore. Both the west and south shores are textile, as indicated by the thick green line. Keep walking across the south shore. Beyond the south lawn, you'll pass through an area where there are trees along both sides of the path. When you emerge from the trees, you'll be in the designated FKK area, which is a large lawn on the eastern shore of the lake. The walk from the parking lot to the FKK area is about one kilometer. There is a restaurant and other amenities in the textile area.

Bernsteinsee lies just east of the interchange of two autobahns: the A10 and the A111. However, there is no direct access from this major interchange.
