Godnasee is a small lake hidden in the forest at the far northern end of the Spreewald, which is a biosphere reserve in southeastern Brandenburg that covers nearly 500 square kilometers. The lake is located is a sparsely populated area, but it is less than 2 kilometers away from the closest village (Alt Schadow), and it is about 80 kilometers southeast of Berlin.

Access is from a parking lot at the south end of the lake. Textiles gather in the immediate vicinity of the parking lot, but otherwise the entire lake is considered the domain of nudists. The main gathering place for nude sunbathers is a meadow on the southwestern side of the lake. Facing the lake near the parking area, go to your left and you'll reach the meadow within a few minutes. The lake is completely undeveloped, with no toilets or food concessions.

Alt Schadow is a village with the municipality of Märkische Heide. Note that Google Maps will not accurately map Alt Schadow unless it is qualified with the name Märkische Heide, but Alt Schadow is 15 kilometers away from the Märkische Heide town center. Alt Schadow is located along route L42, and it is about 25 kilometers north of Lübben, usually written as "Lübben (Spreewald)," which is the closest major town.

From the center of Alt Schadow, follow route L42 northeast (toward Limsdorf). After one to 1.5 kilometers, you will reach a turnoff on the right toward the Godnasee parking lot. We are not able to precisely pinpoint the parking lot or which turnoff leads to it, but if you haven't turned within two minutes of leaving Alt Schadow, you've probably missed it.
