Talsperre Pöhl is a large reservoir in the far west of Saxony. The closest major town is Plauen. This placemark pinpoints the tip of a large peninsula that juts westward into the lake from the village of Helmsgrün. From the start of the parking area and going westward, the entirety of this peninsula is an FKK area that is administered as a textile-free zone. In other words, swimwear is not allowed. The red line roughly outlines the FKK area of the lakeshore, which spans about 2 kilometers. Nudity occurs in the interior meadow of the peninsula as well.

While there is not a beach area with pure sand, there is a gently sloping grassy lawn bordered at the waterline by a broad band of pebbles mixed with sand. There are basic toilet facilities and snack stands.

The Talsperre Pöhl FKK area draws thousands of visitors on peak summer days, and it is said to draw the largest crowds of any interior nude beach in Germany. We'd wager that it rivals most coastal nude beaches in popularity as well. The parking lot, large though it is, cannot contain all the cars. Visitors drive along the grassy tracks and park all along the periphery of the lakeshore lawn. Whether you park in the lot or on the grass, you can leave your clothes behind in your car if you wish. There is a small entry fee per vehicle (not per person), and pedestrians and cyclists are admitted at no charge.
