Although Nordstrand means "North Beach," the name is actually used to generally refer to the entirety of this recreation lake that is located in the northeast of Erfurt. The lake is especially popular with water skiers. Sunbathers gather all along the eastern shore of the lake, which spans about 350 meters. The southeastern corner of the lake is the location of a developed sandy beach with restrooms and a food concession. This beach is textile. Nude bathers gather along the northern third of the eastern shoreline, on a sloping, grassy lawn. Although well known and said to be an official FKK area, the FKK zone is not mentioned on Nordstrand website (linked below). The entry fee is €3 per person, and there is parking on both the south shore (the main entrance) and the north shore (the secondary entrance) of the lake.
