Stausee Hohenfelden is a recreation lake located about 18 kilometers southeast of Erfurt and 24 kilometers southwest of Weimar. The northeast side of the lake is developed with recreational amenities. The main feature of the northeast part of the lake is a sandy textile beach with a playground and a big water slide that goes into the lake. This part of the beach is called "Strandbad Spielplatz" (beach playground). Facing the water from this area, turn to your right and follow the lakeshore north and west about 400 meters and you'll reach the lakeshore meadow that is a designated FKK area.

The entry price is €3 per person. There are restrooms, a snack stand and a restaurant in the textile area. Additionally, there is a campground on the south shore of the lake. Near the beach area, there is a large swimming/leisure establishment called Avenida Therme . It operates independently of the beach but provides a nearby opportunity for an FKK sauna experience in a deluxe environment.

The main beach area hosts a number of festivals during summer, so you may want to browse the website for upcoming events if you'd prefer to avoid crowds and congestion.
