Stadtpark is a large urban park located about 6 kilometers north of the city center of Hamburg in the Winterhude neighborhood of the borough of Hamburg-Nord. There is a designated FKK sunbathing area in the park called Luftbad (which means "air bath"). The FKK area is partitioned into three sections, all of them surrounded by privacy hedges. There is an area for women, an area for men and a mixed-gender area. There is an admission fee of a €2 per person, which discourages non-nudists from dropping by to have a look. Luftbad is just a sunbathing lawn (i.e., no swimming facilities), but there are restrooms and showers. It is open only on sunny days from May through September.
The major landmark for orienting yourself around Stadtpark is the planetarium (one of the largest in Europe), which is a tall red-brick structure with a dome toward the west end of the park. Start at the planetarium and head east across the grassy corridor (toward the lake). After 300 meters you will cross a street (Hindenburgstrasse). Just beyond, the corridor widens to become the large central lawn of the park. At that point, Luftbad is to your left.
GETTING THERE / PARKING:
Go to Google Maps, click Get Directions, choose your departure and make your destination:
Hindenburgstrasse 1, Hamburg, Germany
The above address is the street address of the planetarium. There is no parking along Hindenburgstrasse, but you can proceed to the nearest streetside parking. Other placemarks detail how to arrive by public transit. The U-bahn station is just as close to Luftbad as is any available parking.
