Klosterseestrand refers to the undeveloped and generally uncrowded stretch of beach located on the northeastern side of the municipality of Grömitz, close to the neighboring municipality of Kellenhusen. The part of the beach closest to the pinpointed parking area tends to be all textile, except perhaps on particularly uncrowded days, but the areas on either side are frequented by nude bathers. Facing the sea, go to the left (northeast, toward Kellenhusen). Just past the outlet of a drainage canal, you'll reach a long and rather remote stretch of beach that is likely to be all nudist. Or, go to the right (southwest, toward Grömitz) and you'll also encounter nude bathers all the way to the next drainage outlet at Campingplatz Sonnenland.

A number of different names may be used to refer to this location: Grömitz, Lensterstrand, Campingplatz Sonnenland, Kellenhusen, Grönwohldshorst and Klosterseestrand. The FKK beach lies within the municipal borders of Grömitz. Lensterstrand is a subdivision of Grömitz that is the location of a cluster of large camping establishments, and it is closer to the FKK beach than is the town center of Grömitz. Campingplatz Sonnenland is located slightly farther afield that the other campgrounds of Lensterstrand, and the northeast end of Campingplatz Sonnenland abuts one of the FKK areas. Kellenhusen is the adjacent municipality to Grömitz, and it is just a one-kilometer walk to the FKK beach from the campground (Campingparadies Kellenhusen) that is on the southwest end of Kellenhusen. Grönwohldshorst is a village along route B501 near the turnoff to one of the routes to the beach. The road leading toward the beach is labeled Klosterseestrand.
