Orpheus Bay Beach is a small, hidden beach on the north side of Manukau Harbour, which is the large body of water on the south side of Auckland that opens up to the western coast of the North Island. The beach is about 30 kilometers southwest of the Auckland city center in the tiny suburb of Huia, which is isolated from other Auckland suburbs since it is surrounded by thousands of acres of forested parkland of the Waitakere Ranges.

Orpheus Bay is a rather obscure beach, but it is a favorite with naturists in the know, and nudity is well established. Depending on when you visit, the beach may be empty (especially on weekdays), or there may be just a handful of other visitors. Anyone else you encounter is likely to be naked.

Orpheus Bay is accessed from a short downhill trail called the Con Bryan Track, which leaves about halfway along the short road to the Huia Point scenic overlook. (Note that Google Maps erroneously labels the road to the lookout as the Con Bryan Track. The Con Bryan Track is actually the forested walking path to the beach, which is roughly approximated by the green line.)
