Parkstetten is a small town located just north of the much larger town of Straubing. Parkstetten lies within the Bavarian Forest Nature Park (Naturpark Bayerischer Wald), a large forest area in far eastern Bavaria that extends all the way to the Czech Republic. There is a collection of many ponds in Parkstetten that have been developed into recreation areas, and each pond is assigned a number. ("Pond" = Weiher) There is a designated FKK beach toward the northern part of the western shore of Weiher 12. This area is managed by a naturist association FKK Verein Straubing, but it is open to the public free of charge. Regular visitors are encouraged to join the naturist association to provide for upkeep of the FKK area, which includes a sandy beach, a manicured lawn and toilet facilities. Nudity is obligatory in the FKK area.
