Broad Sand is approximately Lat 50.270420 Lon -3.875451 between Bantham beach and Thurlestone beach. Please type in the co-ordinates above into Google Earth as it will take you straight to that cove. You can park your car in Bantham beach car park £5.00 until just before 9pm (car park gate will close at this time) and anyone wishing to head for this cove from there can walk on a path that takes you left up onto a farmer's field (please keep to the edge of the field for the farmer) it will take you up past the back of the lifeguard hut and eastward along the coast and after going through a gate, you will find a golf course that is on the left. Keep following this coastal path until you find an old hut that belongs to the golf club. Here you will find the steep path that takes you down on to Broad Sand cove. Alternatively, you can park at the Golf club car park in Thurlestone (you need to drive through Thurlestone and head for the golf club on the right, if you are approaching from Plymouth.) I think it is around £3.00, not sure, but from there you need to head west along the coast path. After you park your car in the field, a path will lead you to the first beach. Head westwards along the coast path and 'watch for flying golf balls!' Again you will eventually find the old hut and the steep path will be directly heading down to Broad Sand cove on your approach. It is a slightly longer walk along the coast from here.
