Bugasee is a lake within a manicured urban park called Naturschutzgebiet Fulda-Aue‎, which is a few kilometers south of the city center of Kassel. The lake is situated next to the east bank of the river Fulda. The shoreline of Bugasee is over 5 kilometers long, and most visitors flock to the southern side of the lake, where there are several sandy beach coves (all textile). The main textile beach is pinpointed. At the far west end of Bugasee lies a segment of the lake that is secluded from the rest of it, and there is a designated FKK meadow along the north shore in this area. There is access to the water, but the shoreline and the rest of the FKK meadow is ringed by trees. It is a walk of just under a kilometer from the FKK area to the main textile beach, where there is a snack stand and a restaurant. There is no admission fee. There are multiple parking lots along the southern side of the lake. The pinpointed lot is closest to the FKK area.
