Wendebach-Stausee is a small recreation lake located a short drive south from the large town of Göttingen. The lake is popular with nude sunbathers, and nudity is freely tolerated despite an apparent lack of a formal FKK designation.

As you approach the lake from the parking lot, you will reach a wooden dock on the north shore. Facing the lake at the wooden dock, look to your right and you will see a small segment of the lake that is partitioned by buoys and wooden posts. This is a protected swimming area that is the main gathering spot for textiles. The main FKK meadow is on the south shore of the lake opposite the swimming area. You can follow the perimeter of the lake in either direction to get to the south shore, but the shortest route is around the eastern end of the lake. (I.e., facing the lake at the wooden dock, go to your left along the lakeshore trail.) While there is access to the water from the south shore for nude swimming, there is not an expanse of waterfront such as the one in the textile swimming area. The FKK meadow is mostly separated from the water by a line of trees.

There is some intermingling of nudists and textiles around the lake. Specifically, there are often some nudists toward the western periphery of the north shore swimming area. However, the north shore is always predominantly textile, and most nudists prefer the more secluded south shore, where nudists are the majority.
