From the central district of Hannover, an oblong lake called Maschsee extends southward nearly 2.5 kilometers, and there is a sandy textile beach (pinpointed) at the far south end. On the southwestern side of Maschsee, across the river Leine, there is a cluster of ponds called the Ricklinger Teiche. (Teiche is the plural of Teich, which means "pond.") These ponds are located in Ricklingen, which is a district of Hannover.

Within the cluster of ponds, there is a designated FKK meadow. This meadow lies just south of the east-to-west highway that bisects the ponds. (This highway is Südschnellweg, which is the route of B3, B6 and B65.) The meadow is on the north bank of a pond called Sieben-Meter-Teich, and it is one of three areas within the cluster of ponds that is designated for swimming. (The two textile swimming areas are nearby, on the opposite side of Südschnellweg.) While most of the waterfront of the FKK area is lined with trees, there is a small dock that provides access to the water.

The walk from the nearest tram (Strassenbahn) stops takes about 20-30 minutes. Tram stop Döhrener Turm (lines 1, 2 and 8), at coordinates 52.3450, 9.7624 (Map It), is about 1.7 kilometers away. Tram stop Beekestrasse (lines 3, 7 and 17), at coordinates 52.3435, 9.7251 (Map It), is about 1.9 kilometers away. It is also possible to take Bus 267 to Strandbad Maschsee (the pinpointed textile beach at the south end of Maschsee). From there, the walk to the FKK meadow is about one kilometer.
