Within the city of Cologne (Köln), nude bathing occurs at several location along the Rhine (Rheinufer = "Rhine shoreline"), most notably on the west bank north of a bridge called Mülheimer Brücke. This is the bridge over the Rhine that connects the urban district of Nippes (on the west bank) with the urban district of Mülheim (on the east bank).

Going north from Mülheimer Brücke on the west bank, the parklike shoreline extends about 3.3 kilometers along a peninsula of sorts. Near the tip of this peninsula, there is a pedestrian bridge called Niehler Hafen Brücke. Both Mülheimer Brücke and Niehler Hafen Brücke are pinpointed. Between these two bridges, there are various pockets of nude use all along the shoreline. There is no officially designated FKK are, but nudists and textiles tend to mix freely.

About 800 meters north of Mülheimer Brücke, there is a small forested area called Cranachwäldchen. The shoreline along this forested area is visited mostly by gay men. Beyond the small forest, the shoreline continues another 2 kilometers. The occurrence of nudity gradually decreases as you get closer to the Niehler Hafen bridge, and there are likely to be only textiles within several hundred meters of the pedestrian bridge.

The above address is the location of the Schwarz-Weiss sports club (pinpointed), where there is a large parking lot. Walk around the edge of the sports club that is closest to Mülheimer Brücke (i.e, to your right if you are facing the entrance to the sports club) and you'll reach the west bank of the Rhine.

U-bahn station Slabystrasse (line U13 and U18), at coordinates 50.9664, 6.9877 (Map It), is about 500 meters away. When you exit the station, follow signs to "Kuhweg" and you'll reach the sports club mentioned above.

If you prefer to approach from the opposite end, U-bahn station Niehl Sebastianstrasse (line U16), at coordinates 50.9849, 6.9619 (Map It), is about 500 meters away from Niehler Hafen Brücke.
