On the southern end of the western coast of the North Island, Peka Peka Beach is a long, undeveloped beach lined with driftwood. This beach is located about 65 kilometers north of Wellington, and the nearest town in Waikanae. The northern end of Peka Peka has a long history of nude use, around the area where a small creek empties into the ocean, but crowds here are always small. Weekends may draw a few dozen nudists at most, and the beach may have just a handful of visitors during the week, or it may be deserted.

The beach can be approached from either end. If you park at the end of Peka Peka Road, go right when facing the water. If you park at the end of Te Haupa Road, go left when facing the water. Either way, most nudists walk the better part of a kilometer before stripping down.
