In the far west of the city of Innsbruck, about 6 to 7 kilometers west of the city center, there is an unofficial but very popular FKK area along the river Inn. The FKK area is located in a part of the city called Kranebitten, which is the location of the city's regional airport.

A popular nickname for the area is "Hawaii" or "Alpen-Hawaii," as in "Hawaii in the Alps." The main gathering place is a large grassy meadow, where this placemark is pinpointed. There is also a sandbar along the river adjacent to the meadow.

Another placemark pinpoints a collection of small sandbars about a kilometer farther west (upstream). The upstream area is attended mostly by gay men.
