Bodensee, also known as Lake Constance (Konstanz), is the large lake that borders Austria, Switzerland and Germany. The western tip of Austria is at the eastern shore of the lake. Austria has the least shoreline—just 20 kilometers or so—of any of the countries, but it is within Austria's border that the Rhine River empties into the lake. Austria's small share of Bodensee is also the location of the lake's only major FKK area.

The town of Hard maintains two beach parks near the Rhine delta. Almost all of Hard lies on the east side of the Rhine, and the main beach park (pinpointed ) is located near the central part of town. Just a small part of the municipal limits of Hard extend to the west side of the Rhine, and it is in this area that the town has established a park that is entirely FKK. This FKK park covers about 10 acres, about half of which is forested and half of which is grassy meadows. There are restrooms, showers, a restaurant and a snack stack along with a volleyball area and a children's playground.

Although the town calls the FKK area a beach (Strand = beach), there is actually not a sandy beach area, and the entire park is hidden from the open area of the lake. There are small, undeveloped islands just offshore from the park, and the channel of water between the park and the islands is a shallow, secluded area for nude swimming. The park operates from late April through early September, and there is an entry fee of €3-€4 per person.
