Lake Lucerne (called Vierwaldstättersee in German) is a large lake with a peculiar shape. On the southeastern arm of the lake, the villages of the eastern shoreline are connected by Axenstrasse, a dramatic road which hugs the mountainside along many stretches. The modern route of Axenstrasse goes through many tunnels, but segments of the old original route are open as scenic overlooks.
About halfway between the villages of Flüelen and Sisikon, there is a tiny part of the lakeshore that is an informal FKK area. It may well be the world's smallest nude beach. It is situated below Axen Tunnel.
Assume that you are coming from Flüelen. You will heading north high above the lakeshore, and you will pass through Axen Tunnel. Once you emerge from the tunnel and park, return to the tunnel. You will be facing south, looking at the northern tunnel entrance (where a sign reads "Axen-Tunnel, 390 m"), and the lake will be to your right. Veer right onto a roadway that is immediately next to the tunnel entrance. This is part of the old Axenstrasse. Walk a short distance to a break in a low stone wall. The letters "FKK" are spray painted on one of the stones. This is the start of the trail that goes down to the lake. Follow the zig-zagging trail to the lakeshore. The walk takes about 15 minutes.
When you reach the bottom, there is a tiny flat area of pea gravel next to a small memorial with a cross. There really isn't much room at all for sunbathing, but it is a good spot to enter the water for a bracing naked swim. If you decide you need more room, there is another informal FKK site just a few kilometers to the north at Sisikon. The Sisikon site, while small, is considerably larger than the Axen Tunnel site. (Plus, parking is easier and the hike is shorter.)
The personal website fkkzone.ch has photos and maps of both the Axen Tunnel location and the Sisikon location.
