Oka Provincial Park, about 50 kilometers west of the center of Montréal, is situated on the north shore of the Lake of the Two Mountains (Lac des Deux-Montagnes), a wide body of water downstream from the mouth of the Ottawa River. The park has a shoreline of over five kilometers that includes a very long, sandy beach. The park's official website and literature conveniently fail to mention that east of the textile beach (but still within the park) is Québec's most popular nude beach. This beach—dubbed "Okapulco" by regulars—has drawn large crowds of nudists for several decades although nudity is arguably not permitted. A naturist group—the Fédération Québécoise de Naturisme—has long championed the cause of making Okapulco a legal nude beach, and while park officials have remained resistant, they have also consistently turned a blind eye to nudity. Ironically, despite the presence of "no nudity" signs, in reality nudity has been openly tolerated at Oka for years and that does not seem likely to change, even if the official stamp of approval is denied.

Okapulco draws hundreds of nudists—many hundreds on peak weekends. The beach attracts a diversity of people—straight, gay, couples, singles and entire families—and has a very social atmosphere. Swimming and volleyball are popular. The nude zone begins one kilometer east of the pinpointed parking lot and extends east about two kilometers.

There are two fees associated with visiting the beach: a $3.50 per person park entry fee, plus a $5 per car fee to park in the beach lot. Season passes are available for both entry and parking. All of the park's amenities and services are located outside the nude area.
