Skiathos, an island in the northern Aegean near the mainland of central Greece, is home to a very popular nude beach called Ammoudia Krassa, but this beach is popularly known as Banana Beach. This is a west-facing beach located on the extreme southwestern part of the island.

Banana Beach is a 300-meter-long sandy crescent where nudity has traditionally been common. However, as with too many other Greek beaches, textiles have discovered this gem. While the particular culture of Banana Beach seems to dictate that nudity is always acceptable, in reality textiles are always a majority—and a vast majority in peak season. Less crowded days have a higher percentage of nudists. At any rate, textiles and nudists coexist peacefully.

However, that is not the whole story. Nudists always predominate at the next cove, which is a smaller beach about half the length of Banana Beach called Little Banana. From Banana (or "Big Banana"), just walk north (to the right when facing the water) and scramble over the rocky headland, then you'll reach Little Banana. Also known as "Banana Two" or "Spartacus Beach," Little Banana is virtually all nude.

Big Banana and Little Banana are collectively one of the most renowned and beloved nude beaches in all of Greece, and there are devotees of this beach that return year after year. The beach is always crowded in peak season. There are tavernas both at Big Banana and Little Banana.
