Meech Lake is located in expansive Gatineau Park north of Hull, which is across the river from the larger city of Ottawa—Canada's national capital. O'Brien Beach (textile) is a popular beach at the south end of Meech Lake. Hike through the woods from the O'Brien parking lot and you will reach two areas frequented by nudists. Beyond the pinpointed footbridge, the left fork of the trail leads to a beach on a bay of the main body of Meech Lake that draws a small number of nudists, where this placemark is pinpointed. The right fork goes to a more popular area that is frequented mostly by gay men.

The park is administered by the National Capital Commission (NCC), which has in the past made efforts to discourage nudity, like posting "no nudity" signs (which visitors simply ignore). However, it seems the NCC has grudgingly accepted that nudists aren't going to go away. Apparently it has been years since naked bathers were hassled, and authorities seem to turn a blind eye despite any signage that may be posted. This site continues to be very popular.

Since there is no sandy beach, it is a good idea to bring a thick blanket for sunbathing or even an air mattress for floating in the water. The parking lot can fill up quickly on warm weekends.
