Spiaggia dell'Arenauta

Strada Statale 213, 04024 Gaeta, Province of Latina, Italy

Find on Google Maps
Arenauta is a beach of just over a kilometer in length located between Sperlonga and Gaeta. This placemark is pinpointed at the southern end of the beach. This part of the beach is also often called "Trecento Scalini" or "Trecento Gradini," both of which basically mean "300 steps," referring to the descent from the coastal road. (To make matters more confusing, the name "Scissure" is also oftern applied to this beach.)
Whatever name you call it, Arenauta is a predominantly a textile beach. On uncrowded days, nudity occurs at the far southern end. If the beach is crowded, nudists are likely to retreat to the small niches beyond the rocks at the south end of the beach. The rocks are easily traversed at low tide. However, even these niches can be overrun with textiles on busy days. Nudist attendance at this beach tends to be primarily by gay men.
