The mountainous region in the northeastern corner of Tuscany, deep in the interior of Italy, may seem an unlikely place for a nude beach. However, there is a popular nude bathing area on the banks of Torrente Diaterna, a shallow stream that is a tributary of the Santerno River. The nude area is close to the confluence of the Diaterna and the Santerno. The closest village, Firenzuola, is about 10 kilometers to the west. The setting of this nudist spot is quite beautiful. The mountain stream flows alongside a vertical wall of rock. There is no sandy beach, but there are some flat rock surfaces. This site is unspoiled and undeveloped, so come prepared with water, snacks, etc.
