Sveti Stefan ("Saint Stephen") is a popular and picturesque tourist village located in the central part of Montenegro's coast, roughly equidistant from Croatia and Albania. The town's most distinctive feature is the tiny, fortress-like island where the oldest part of the village (dating to the 15th century) is located. Linked to the mainland via a man-made isthmus (making it technically a peninsula), the island is now part of the very upscale Aman chain of resorts. The main beach of Sveti Stefan is located on either side of the isthmus that leads to the island.
Immediately south of the village, just beyond a rocky outcropping, there is a much more rugged beach called Crvena Glavica. It spans about 1.2 kilometers altogether, consisting of several coves, and it is situated below a small no-frills budget textile campground that is also named Crvena Glavica (shaded in orange, roughly). The various parts of the beach are shaded in green and red, and much of the beach (the red part) is available for nude use.
To orient yourself, assume that you are at the far northern part of Crvena Glavica (shaded in green). This textile part of the beach abuts the outcropping that separates Crvena Glavica from the main village beach, and there is a small café along this northernmost 100 or so meters. If you stand at the café and look southward (to the left when facing the water), the nude area begins just ahead and extends about 500 meters, all the way a more prominent outcropping in the distance that blocks your view of the coastline beyond. Since the shoreline gets more rugged as you go south, most nudists tend to stay in the area closer to the café. Beyond the outcropping and out of view, there are two more beach coves (also shaded in green): the smaller one is undeveloped; the larger one is known as Galija, and it is a popular beach with a café and lounge chairs. Both these coves are textile.
Sveti Stefan is located 8 kilometers south of Budva, a major coastal town. The coastal road (numbered both E65 and E80 in the area) skirts the inland edge of Sveti Stefan, and there is just one turnoff that goes downhill into the village (toward the distinctive island). That turnoff (pinpointed) should be your starting point of reference. From there, follow the coastal road south 500 meters to a hotel on the right. This hotel is the last building in town. Turn right into the far end of the hotel parking lot and you'll be filtered onto the road that goes through Crvena Glavica Camping. Follow the winding campground road about 400 meters to a fork. Keep to the right. Continue a bit over 100 meters farther to another fork. Keep to the right again. Shortly you'll reach the end of the road above the nude beach.
Note: At the last fork, assume you go left instead of right. After 700 meters, you'll reach the end of the road at Galija.
