Playa de la Mar Bella is very centrally located in Barcelona, just over a kilometer north of Port Olímpic (the marina). Mar Bella is about 400 meters long, and the southern end has been designated for nude bathing since 1996. An embankment behind part of the beach provides a bit of privacy from the beach promenade. Mar Bella is equipped with restrooms with showers and a beach bar.

Like all of Barcelona's urban beachfront, Mar Bella gets very crowded during the summer. Furthermore, despite the fact that nudity is perfectly acceptable, textiles predominate, especially on crowded days. If you are not comfortable being naked in an environment where nudists are a minority, or if your have a general aversion to beach congestion, Mar Bella is not the best choice.

Playa de la Móra, a few kilometers north in Badalona, is a lesser-known and more subdued nude beach that is a nearby alternative for those who are put off by Mar Bella's mostly textile crowds.
