Playa de la Devesa is a very long beach that spans nearly 5 kilometers, beginning at the mouth of Gola del Pujol (the canal that connects Albufera lagoon to the sea) and extending southward to the mouth of another canal in the town of El Perellonet. Toward the far southern end of the beach, there is a luxury resort called Parador Nacional de El Saler (pinpointed), which is surrounded by a golf course. Other than that, there is no development along the beach, which is backed by forested nature preserve land, and the roads and tracks through the forest behind the beach are closed to automobile traffic. As a result, overall attendance is low, and nudity is commonplace. Nudity can be practiced just about anywhere along the beach.

This placemark is pinpointed toward the northern end of Playa de la Devesa. This is the part of the beach that is most quickly reached from the closest available parking. After parking, follow the track that skirts the southern edge of a large pond and you will reach the beach after 700 or so meters. From here, it is a southward walk of about 3 kilometers to the resort and golf course, and you are not likely to encounter many people. Some visitors bring bicycles to explore the farther reaches of the beach. If you continue straight ahead from where automobile access is blocked, the road continues south for well over 2 kilometers, and there are a number of side tracks over the dunes to the beach.

About halfway to the resort and golf course, there is a boardwalk going up through the dunes to a structure that looks like a grand mansion. This is Casal d'Esplai del Saler, which is a summer youth center. Nudity should be practiced with discretion in the immediate area of the boardwalk, especially if textiles are present.

This beach seems to be called Playa del Saler just as often as Playa de la Devesa, even though technically El Saler is the beach north of Gola del Pujol.
