This sandbar at a sharp bend of the Elbow River is the closest thing Calgary has to a nude beach, but there are rarely more than a handful of nude bathers here. This site, about 15 kilometers southwest of downtown Calgary, is located within the Weaselhead Natural Area, which is an area of marshland that is the western extension of the parkland that surrounds the Glenmore Reservoir.

The nude beach is located near the edge of the public parkland very close to the border of the Tsuu T'ina Indian reserve. Although there is a road (Strathcona Street) that runs close to the nude beach, be advised that this road belongs to the Tsuu T'ina Nation. Is is not available to the public, and crossing onto the Indian reserve is considered trespassing. The only way to get to the nude area involves parking at the western edge of North Glenmore Park then hiking westward about half an hour along the north side of the river. Nudity is not officially allowed, and discretion is advised, but the spot is sufficiently remote that encounters with unsuspecting textiles are unlikely. This informal nude beach is a mostly gay hangout.
