Praia do Rodanho and Praia da Amorosa are neighboring segments of a continuous beach that is toward the southern end of the large municipality of Viana do Castelo, which is in the far north of Portugal near the Spanish border. The access points to Rodanho and Amarosa are a little over 2 kilometers apart, and nudity occurs along the more remote part of the beach that is about halfway between the two. The informal nude area is usually considered to be part of Praia do Rodanho, but you can park at either beach. If you park at Amorosa, you will be in a beach resort community where there is a beachside café along the textile part of the beach. The nude area is about a kilometer to the north. If you park at Rodanho, there are no amenities, but the dunes at the access point are exceptionally beautiful. The nude area is about 750 meters to the south. Nudity takes place along a stretch of beach that is roughly 500 meters long, and crowds of nudists are always small and dispersed. The nude area has a reputation as a gay beach, but it draws some straight nudists as well.
