Rocky Bay is one of three locations on Magnetic Island that are known to draw a small number of nude bathers. (See the "i" information placemark for general information about Magnetic Island and how to get there. Other placemarks describe the other two beaches.)
Rocky Bay is a 300-meter-long cove that is notable for the large boulders strewn along the beach. Getting to the beach involves going down a somewhat steep hillside, and the way to access the beach (drawn by the green line) is not particularly obvious. These factors mean the beach is usually deserted, and it has gained a reputation as a nude beach. (You may encounter "nude beach" spray painted on one of the boulders, but such marking are subject to weather away.)
Up the hill from the north end of the beach, there is a parking pullout along the main island road, and that pullout provides a clear view of Rocky Bay, compromising its seclusion. In that regard, Balding Bay on the opposite side of the island may be a better choice for nude bathing since it is more deeply secluded.
Remember that none of the Magnetic Island locations are officially designated for nude use, as there are no legal nude beaches in Queensland.
