The beach of Los Caños de Meca extends nearly 3 kilometers. This placemark is pinpointed near the eastern extreme of the beach. The western limit of the beach is at Cabo de Trafalgar (pinpointed), with its prominent lighthouse.
Most of Playa de los Caños de Meca is textile, but the eastern end, just past the end of the town's developed area, is popular with nudists. This part of the beach extends several hundred meters and is also known as Playa de los Castillejos. As you walk east the beach tapers off and becomes a series of hidden, rocky coves. The eastern end of the beach is popular with gay men. Most of the beach disappears at high tide.
Nudity is also common in the area around the lighthouse at Cabo de Trafalgar. This rocky land mass divides Playa de los Caños de Meca from Playa de Zahora.
