Pantano de San Juan is a reservoir located in a rural, forested area in the gently mountainous terrain of the far west of the autonomous community of Madrid. It is about 65 kilometers west of the city center of Madrid. There is an informal and rather hidden nude beach on the eastern side of the reservoir that is accessed by driving a few kilometers along an unmarked and unpaved road. The beach has flat rock ledges, and there are also areas of sand unless the lake level is high. This beach is especially popular with gay men.
