Located on the south side of the Jandía peninsula on the south end of Fuerteventura, Playa de Sotavento is one of the largest beaches on the island. Sotavento is an expansive beach with ample sand and many areas of huge dunes. Nudity is possible along almost all of the beach, the length of which is approximately delineated by the red line.

The far north end of Sotavento extends into Costa Calma, an area of large resort hotels. While swimsuits are worn along most of the Costa Calma beach, there are two coves at the southern end of the development where nudity is acceptable. These pinpointed coves abut the two H10 hotels (also pinpointed), and beach chairs and umbrellas can be rented.

From the hotel coves, Sotavento extends south over 10 kilometers to Marabu, and there are several other parking lots and access roads in additions to the ones that are labelled. Generally, the immediate vicinities of the various access points of the beach may be customarily textile only, but from any point you need only stroll a short distance to be naked.
