The beaches at the southern tip of Lanzarote, covering an area of just a few square kilometers, are collectively called the Papagayo beaches, and they are located in a natural park. There are six major coves (all pinpointed), ranging from 100 to 400 meters long, along with a handful of tiny mini-coves, all under 40 meters long.

Playa de Caleta del Congrio is an east-facing beach that stretches about 300 meters. Much of the north end of the beach disappears at high tide. Of the three pinpointed Papagayo beaches where nudity most frequently occurs, Caleta del Congrio is the most popular with bare bathers. Even on peak days when all the other coves are overrun with textiles, there are always nudists here, along the entire span of the beach. A short hike from the nearest parking lot to Caleta del Congrio is about 350 meters long.
