Playa de la Tejita, located very close to Tenerife's southern airport, consists of a broad swath of sand that extends about one kilometer. The most prominent feature of the beach is Montaña Roja ("Red Mountain"), the prominent whale-like headland that rises abruptly at the east end of the beach. It is not out of the question to see naked strollers at any point along the beach, especially on uncrowded days. However, nudists congregate toward the far east end of the beach.

As you walk toward Montaña Roja, you will reach a low rocky outcropping at what appears to be the end of the beach. Just before this outcropping, there is a beach bar and a collection of umbrellas. This part of the beach (where this placemark is pinpointed) generally has a mix of nudists and textiles. Follow the short walkway across the rocky outcropping and you will reach a tiny, hidden cove that is about 60 meters long. This cove is mostly nudist. There are beach chairs at this cove, but no umbrellas. At low tide, nudists can explore the rocky span of about 200 meters beyond the small cove.

Playa de la Tajita is the most popular nude beach on Tenerife.
