Ilha de Armona is a 9-kilometer-long barrier island that can only be accessed by passenger ferry or boat from Olhão or Fuseta. Although none of the island is officially signed for nude use, nudity is tolerated on most of the island's length, which is nearly deserted outside of two vacation villages. All you have to do is put some distance between yourself and the nearest textiles.

If you approach via Olhão, you'll arrive at a large vacation village at the western tip of the island. Walk through the Olhão vacation village to the beach, then turn left and walk east. After you leave the textiles behind, nudity is possible for about 4 kilometers until you start to approach the much smaller Fuseta vacation village. This placemark is pinpointed about halfway between the two villages.

If you approach via Fuseta, you'll arrive at the smaller of the two vacations villages. Walk west and you'll be on the 4-kilometer stretch described above, or walk east and you'll be on a nearly deserted stretch that extends a few kilometers to the eastern end of the island.

Ilha de Armona is separated from Ilha de Tavira by a small channel. Nudity is also possible on much of Tavira, which is far more popular with nudists than is Armona.
