Part of Praia Grande is popular with nude bathers. The nude area is just west of a textile area of the beach with chairs and umbrellas, but a low rock outcropping provides a privacy wall. The nude area extends west for several hundred meters toward another textile area with umbrellas and a beach bar. Praia Grande is also known as Praia de Pêra.

The nude beach can also be reached by walking a little over a kilometer east from the resort town of Armação de Pêra.
