The southern end of Berrow's beach is an unofficial nude beach that is attended predominantly by gay men. The nude area of Berrow a bit south of a shipwreck area (pinpointed), where you can see the remains of a small wooden Norwegian vessel that ran aground in 1897. The path that runs between the Church of St. Mary and the golf course (drawn in green) leads directly to the nude area of the beach. Nude sunbathing is common, but it happens mostly in the dunes. Nudity on the open beach occurs only on quiet days when there are no textile visitors in the area. If you do sunbathe nude on the open beach, you should walk away from the wrecked ship should textile visitors wander down to see it, and cover up if a clothed visitor approaches. Nudity is not officially tolerated, and police do show up from time to time, but only in response to a complaint. However, police tactics are not heavy handed, and nude bathers are usually just told not to be naked on the open beach.
