This beautiful beach of about 3/4 mile in length in Exmoor National Park is situated beneath a steep cliff. Access is via a switchback trail that is a bit tiring, especially on the way back up. The beach is lightly attended due to the challenging hike and limited parking. Nudity is common, particularly toward the northeast end of the beach. Rocky outcroppings divide Sillery Sands into three coves. The access trail takes you to the western cove. At low tide, it is easy to skirt around the rocks to explore the entirety of the beach, but at high tide the middle and eastern coves are cut off from the rest of the beach. Be careful to watch the tide so you don't get stranded at one of these coves.
