Part of the pebbly beach of the resort town of Budleigh Salterton is designated and signed for clothing-optional use. The main beach area of Budleigh Salterton abuts the development of the town. From there, look west (to the right when facing the water) and you'll see where the town ends as the land begins to rise. The nude part of the beach, just past the end of town, begins about 1/3 mile past the steps that are toward the far west end of the beach promenade. This part of the beach is set beneath beautiful, dramatic red cliffs. The nude area is generally well attended but uncrowded.
