Blackgang Beach refers to the far southern end of the long beach that runs along the western coast of the Isle of Wight. This part of the beach is below the village of Blackgang, but there is no direct access from Blackgang as the cliffs are high and steep. The beach is exceptionally scenic and is freely visited by nude bathers, but attendance is low due to access challenges. The trail that descends to the extreme south end of the beach (drawn in green) takes you directly to the nude area, but it is steep and challenging. Be in shape for it. Otherwise, the only safe access to the beach is via Whale Chine, located a bit north of Chale at coordinates 50.6027, -1.3393 (Map It). There are steps to the beach at Whale Chine, but you'll have to walk south nearly 2 miles to the nude area. The far southern end of the beach is also commonly known as Rocken End.
